Statement of Diversity and Inclusion

Subud USA, including its member regions and affiliates, reaffirms that diversity and inclusion are essential to the fulfillment of our mission.

As an Association we recognize that a community that is respectful of individual diversity and strives to include all persons despite differences in cultural status, age, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion is a recognition that each human being holds a gift from God while s/he is alive.

In Subud, it is our core value that we all are equal in our worship of God, and through our form of worship called the latihan we strive to assist all individuals who seek contact with this Great Life Force. We further recognize that our life is an expression of our inner selves as well as our common humanity and as human beings we all struggle to overcome intolerance in any form as we seek our worship of God.

Subud USA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has been and will continue to be rooted in the respect for the values and unique attributes that make us who we are. We further recognize that our diversity brings us together to collectively address and celebrate the challenges that face humankind at this time.

More recently Subud USA has reconfirmed its position of inclusion, in particular of the LGBTQ community. We reaffirm our policy on diversity and inclusion and do this with the understanding that it obliges each of us to re-examine our own phobias, cultural limitations, prejudices and other finite labels that are used to deny human rights and justice.

As we continue to ponder our own purpose for being, our own choices as well as the paths of others in this life we appreciate that this must be measured in terms of individuality and give thanks for each person's willingness to express their uniqueness.
