HELPER RESOURCES

     On this page you will find forms and guidelines which you will find very helpful in carrying out your role as a Subud helper. All helpers should be sure they have read both the Center Helper Guide and also Bapak’s Advice and Guidance for Helpers. The 1981 edition of Bapak’s Advice and Guidance for Helpers can be read online by registering with the online Subud Library. The 1988 edition may be ordered from Subud USA (see the Helper's Book Order Form). It is also useful to have some literature to give to applicants—there are a few documents on this page, and you can also order booklets which are listed on the Helper's Book Order Form. Copies of the opening statement in regular, large, and very large print, as well as in Spanish, are also available for download and printing. Please remember to send the new member form to both your region and the national office after an opening (and don't forget to send one for openings done at congresses!). There is also information on how to become an honorary (i.e., retired) helper.

     It is also important that all helpers understand the procedures necessary for a candidate helper to be approved as a helper (see the Candidate Helper Application Instructions). Each candidate helper must receive and read the Candidate Helper Booklet and fill out a Candidate Helper Application Form. The candidate helper must provide 3 passport size photos with this form. All too often, getting these photos from the candidate helper has caused long delays in getting these forms submitted, so please encourage them to get the photos as soon as possible. Following the policies and procedures correctly with respect to candidate helpers is a necessary requirement for them to be approved as helpers and to receive their helper card.

     Regional and national helpers need to read and be very familiar with the Regional Helper Guide.

     National helpers and helpers from centers and regions under Subud USA’s corporate umbrella should read the Travel Reimbursement Guidelines before planning any travel. The Reimbursement Voucher Form with attached receipts must be submitted promptly in order to be reimbursed for pre-approved travel reimbursement, or to convert out-of-pocket costs of any offical travel into a tax-deductible donation. Other centers or regions may find these guidelines and this form helpful as well.
